TWENTYSIX HOUSES ALONG WALDEGGSTRASSE

Urban development concept for an inner-city highway axis

At first glance, a street like any other, but something is irritating.

On closer inspection, one can see its only vacant buildings. The housings on Waldeggstrasse have been unoccupied for more than ten years, and will be for many more years before the "gap closure" to an inner-city highway axis takes place.

Artworks were acquired for the public collection, City of Linz.

The pictures by Austrian photo artist Otto Hainzl connect the dramaturgy of social life1 with questions about urban development concepts.
